County Scout Expedition

Thirteen Scouts from our Scout group attended the County Scout Expedition on November 17th, 2018.
The Expedition involved a hike over Slieve Bearnagh from Violet Hill, Broadford Co Clare to Two Mile Gate, Killaloe Co Clare.
The group met at 8am in the Scout Hall, traveled to Broadford where the event organizers detailed the Expedition.
With Route Cards, Maps and Compasses at the ready, the group set off for a day of Orienteering (Grid References and Bearings).
It was great day. Tough at times as the terrain was heavy in places but everyone completed the 13km (30,000 step) hike.
Darkness was falling as the group arrived at Two Mile Gate at about 5pm.
